Coles Student Organizations and Events

We believe in a 360° education to prepare students to become resourceful problem solvers ready to contribute right out of the gate. Teamwork and leadership are developed as core values and connect the classroom to the real world through student organizations, national competitions, a variety of unique resources.

Student Organizations

Whatever major you choose, there is a Student Organization to help you engage, connect, and learn. It also looks great on a resume! Your membership, especially leadership roles, will allow you to be surrounded by like-minded people and broaden your network.  You can gain skills in your field and make friends along the way! 

  • ALPFA is dedicated to enhancing opportunities for Latinos and building leadership and career skills.

  • BETA ALPHA PSI is an honorary organization for Financial Information students and professionals. The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field.

  • Beta Gamma Sigma is an international honor society serving business programs accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Membership is extended to undergraduate and graduate business students in the top percentiles of their class.

  • The mission of the Business Technology Club, previously the Information Systems Club, shall be to promote the study and utilization of emerging technologies and information systems through programs of professional development, social networking, and community development.

  • The Coles Ambassadors for Student Success (CASS) strive to promote student success across all Coles majors by connecting Coles College students with a network of alumni, business leaders, university resources, faculty, and their peers.

  • A student-led organization aimed at preparing college students for a career in the FinTech industry. Come explore various FinTech topics, mingle with other students, and network with employers! ALL majors and years are encouraged to join our community! We seek to help students navigate the FinTech ecosystem, find their place in this space, and supplement the FinTech minor with real-world experiences.

  • The HLCC is and organization that will enhance industry knowledge and develop leadership skills through industry engagement, guest speakers, training sessions, and community engagement. Students will meet, interact with each other and industry leaders to expand their professional network, develop leadership skills and enhance career enhancement and development opportunities.

  • The purpose of this organization shall be to provide a holistic educational experience for students to explore, share, and develop their interest in Internal Auditing. Our purpose is to provide direction and guidance in the areas of internal audit and meeting organizational goals for our Officers and Members regarding activities, goals, and objectives.

  • NABA’s goal is to promote and develop the professional skills of its members and encourage and assist minority students in entering the accounting profession.

  • The Offensive Security Research Club is for information security students to ethically research and investigate current Offensive Security methods in an effort to gain a better understanding of the challenges we are likely to face in an enterprise environment.

    The Professional Sales Club guides students through their career endeavors of selling with integrity and an ethical conduct. The club holds networking events and help members develop career building skills.

  • The Real Estate Society at KSU(RES) will give members a chance to learn more about real estate in a real world context and will provide a platform for students who are interested in investment opportunities or real estate as a career. Members will be able to connect with each other and professionals in the industry.

  • SHRM gives you access to a network of 200,000 individual members and essential resources through the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management. SHRM offers offering certifications, connections, conferences and conversations to help you succeed in all stages of your career journey.

  • SMIF was established to provide real-time, hands on experience in portfolio management and investing for its top business majors. Students are actively involved in the management of the fund on a day-to-day basis effectively applying classroom theory to a real-world setting.

  • The purpose of Women In Technology is to support and give direction to both men and women aiming to work in technology, science, or mathematics fields or those who currently are working in these fields.

Competitions

  • The KSU Top 100 is best described as Shark Tank meets The Voice. Limited to 100, we eventually pair our teams with seasoned mentors who rigorously train and compete against each other. Students and mentors battle through challenges until one champion remains.  The final three teams then pitch in front of a live audience of experienced entrepreneurs and investors until only one champion remains. 

    With a total prize valued at $100,000, it could be your springboard to entrepreneurial success! 

  • Kennesaw State University is home to the National Collegiate Sales Competition, where hundreds of teams compete, Fortune 500 companies recruit, and more than 75% of the participants walk away with a job offer. It’s a national stage to showcase your polish and your professionalism, and it’s right here in Kennesaw.

  • Compete against other live cyber security teams and face an “external threat” from the red team, going head to head to match defensive skills. This competition is regionally hosted by the Coles College Center for Information Security Education.  The Center provides information on information security educational opportunities and initiatives in the KSU community and provides outreach opportunities in faculty development, collaboration, and curriculum develop assistance to colleagues in the region.

  • You could shape and manage an actual fund and participate in the Global Asset Management Fund Conference in NYC! The Student Managed Investment Fund LLC in the Coles College of Business at KSU was established in May 2006 to provide real-time, hands on experience in portfolio management and investing for its top business majors. Students are actively involved in the management of the fund on a day-to-day basis effectively applying classroom theory to a real world setting.
