FAQs for Prospective Students

1. What kind of ROI can I expect from this program?

The return on investment from our program is significant given that we are so competitively priced.  In a survey among recent alumni, a clear majority noted satisfaction from their studies, opportunities for quicker career advancement, increased earnings power, professional network development, and half of those surveyed indicated that they could not have obtained their current job without their graduate business education.

2. When are classes offered?

In the Evening MBA, classes are offered Monday-Thursday from 6pm-8:45pm. Students are in class once a week per class in which they enroll.

The WebMBA is not a program that requires you to log on at a specific time each day. The classes are asynchronous, and are run through a learning management system portal called Desire 2 Learn. Professors post course syllabi along with lectures, team assignments, and individual assignments through the D2L system.  Students have regular due dates where they are to upload completed assignments (papers, quantitative problem work, case studies, etc.).  Professors will also post discussion threads for responses to readings, etc.  Exams are done through D2L or other online means.

3. Do I have to take the GMAT?

Many of our applicants qualify for the GMAT alternative. We have the criteria for alternatives outlined on our Application Process web page so you can see how your file will be evaluated for that component. If you believe you qualify, you will see a GMAT section on the application where you can request an alternative by checking the box that best applies and we will review your file once everything is in.

4. What classes do I need to have before I can apply?

We don’t have any academic pre-requisites for application other than having a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.

5. What is the foundation knowledge requirement?

If you did not have undergraduate or graduate courses in the areas of financial accounting, managerial accounting, corporate finance, and business math/statistics, we would assign these subjects as online modules to you for you to complete. These modules are self-paced and typically take about 20 hours each to complete. We highly recommend having all assigned foundation knowledge complete prior to starting your MBA classes. Students in the WebMBA are required to have all foundation knowledge complete by orientation.

6. How much does this program cost?

Current tuition and fee rates can be found here. Total cost for the Evening MBA will vary depending on how long it takes you to complete your degree as fees are assessed on a per-term basis. The cost of the WebMBA is the same regardless of tuition classification.

7. What scholarships are available?

All accepted and current students complete the same application for scholarships, and our foundation chooses the recipients each year. Most scholarships are awarded to undergraduate students at KSU though, so there are not many awarded to our MBA students. Many of our students do have help from their employers, so you may want to ask your employer about whether or not there is some type of tuition reimbursement program. You might also research and pursue scholarships through civic or professional organizations.

8. What documentation do international students or students with an international transcript need to provide?

You can find a full list of university required documentation on the Graduate College page for international students. You can see specific requirements according to visa type. Please contact ksugrad@kennesaw.edu with questions pertaining to these documents and that part of the process.
