Prospective Student FAQs

Prospective students considering enrolling in a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program often have questions regarding the application process, program structure, course content and career prospects after graduation. To help ease your process, our MBA FAQ list aims to provide clarity on various aspects of your program and assist in making an informed decision about pursuing an MBA degree.

  • The return on investment from our program is significant given that we are so competitively priced.  In a survey among recent alumni, a clear majority noted satisfaction from their studies, opportunities for quicker career advancement, increased earnings power, professional network development, and half of those surveyed indicated that they could not have obtained their current job without their graduate business education.

  • Evening MBA courses are offered Monday through Thursday nights from 6:00 – 8:45 PM. Each course in which a student is enrolled meets one night per week (Spring/Fall/most Summer courses). Classes in the Fall/Spring terms are 15-weeks whereas the Summer term is 8-weeks in length.

WebMBA courses are asynchronous and do not require you to be logged in on certain days and at specific times in order to receive instruction. Students work in a small team of 5-7 individuals as a subset of their larger cohort that they move through the program with – taking two prescribed core courses each term for five consecutive terms. All courses operate in a learning management system called goView.

  • We do not require a GMAT or GRE score in order to complete your application file for review. Oftentimes we do not need a test score in order to assess candidacy for either of our programs. If we find that after the initial review of your file, a test score would make you more competitive among our applicant pool, we may reach back out and encourage submission of a score.
  • We don’t have any academic pre-requisites for application other than having a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Evening MBA Program: When we are reviewing your official copies of your transcripts as part of the admissions review process, we are looking for successfully completed coursework in the areas of financial accounting, managerial accounting, corporate finance and business math/statistics. If a student is admitted to the program, we would notify them in an acceptance letter which of these courses were successfully completed and meet our foundation knowledge requirements versus those that do not. In the case a student has not already completed these courses in their previous academic pursuit, we would assign them foundation knowledge modules to complete. Each module is completed online, is self-paced and takes approximately 20-25 hours to complete. Each module costs $200 and is an out of pocket cost, as they are not eligible for coverage under financial aid.

WebMBA Program: Upon payment of the orientation fee deposit, students are granted access to a platform called MBA Math where they are expected to complete foundation knowledge modules in accounting, economics, finance and statistics prior to attending the two-day, face to face orientation.

  • Total cost for the Evening MBA will vary depending on how long it takes you to complete your degree as fees are assessed on a per-term basis. The cost of the WebMBA is the same regardless of tuition classification.

  • All accepted and current students complete the same application for scholarships, and our foundation chooses the recipients each year. Most scholarships are awarded to undergraduate students at KSU though, so there are not many awarded to our MBA students. Many of our students do have help from their employers, so you may want to ask your employer about whether or not there is some type of tuition reimbursement program. You might also research and pursue scholarships through civic or professional organizations.
  • You can find a full list of university required documentation on the Graduate College page for international students. You can see specific requirements according to visa type.
