Academic concentrations allow you to add a special focus to your MBA and customize your academic plan to gain specialized industry knowledge, skills and experience.

  • The KSU MBA-Accounting Concentration is designed for working professionals seeking a path to certification as a public accountant (CPA) without leaving the workforce. Students pursuing the Accounting concentration will gain the credit hours and content needed to become eligible to sit for the CPA Exam and can also purchase the Becker CPA review and prep courses at a discounted rate.

    Admissions

    This program is designed for students with an AACSB accredited undergraduate degree in Accounting, and/or those who have successfully completed the following AACSB accredited course equivalents:

    • Intermediate Financial Accounting 1
    • Individual Taxation
    • Accounting Information Systems
    • Intermediate Financial Accounting II
    • Auditing and Assurance

    Degree Plan

    Students pursuing the Accounting concentration will complete five MBA core courses students, one Business Law course, and six Accounting courses. Accounting courses will cover topics such as business reporting, accounting information systems, taxation, and auditing to help prepare for the CPA Exam.

This program is perfect for students who want the best of both worlds: a foundation of business fundamentals, plus a focus on financial management. Graduates emerge with useful knowledge, skills, and tools to help them succeed in any field. If you’re interested in finance and business leadership, The KSU MBA – Finance concentration can help you on your way toward a rewarding career.

    Students pursuing the Finance concentration will complete eight MBA core classes, three Finance courses, and one elective related to international or global business study. Finance courses will cover topics such as investments, real property, financial markets and multinational financial management.

  • Enhance your career prospects at the nexus of emerging technologies, financial management and corporate leadership with a concentration in Digital Financial Technologies (Fintech) in the KSU Evening MBA Program.

    The MBA-Fintech concentration curriculum is market-driven and includes a combination of core, instructor-led classes with a series of cutting edge, online courses focused on the key financial technology subjects related to the Fintech industry.

    Program faculty are thought-leaders and experts, trained in the growing area of Fintech payment processing. In addition to opening doors in the areas of digital payment technology, fraud prevention, data analytics and compliance, the KSU MBA-Fintech concentration will help students grow in the areas of:

    • Adapting in a fast-changing environment
    • Fostering innovation
    • Fine-tuning leadership skills
    • Improving collaborative skills

    The program is supported by industry partners. Students will gain exposure to rapidly growing job opportunities, many of which are in Atlanta, but also in Charlotte, Chicago, New York and many major financial centers around the world.

    Students pursing the FinTech concentration will complete eight in-person evening MBA core courses and four online FinTech courses. FinTech courses will cover topics such as payment processing, security and assurance, emerging payment technologies and in-person experiential learning in payment systems.

    Embedded in the concentrations is also a Graduate Certificate in Financial Technology. Students can petition for this certificate and receive it alongside their MBA without completing any additional coursework.

  • The General Management concentration provides you with core MBA coursework that will help push your career forward, while allowing you to have flexibility in choosing elective courses that best align with your goals.

    Students can opt to use their electives to earn one of KSU’s Graduate Certificates in Business Intelligence Certificate or Social Entrepreneurship Certificate while pursuing this concentration.
