Coles College Policy for Assigning Course Credit based on Advanced Placement (AP) and College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) Test Scores

AP Tests

Kennesaw State University awards credit for select courses based on Advanced Placement (AP) Test scores of 3 or higher. A “K” grade is assigned for these courses on the student’s transcript. These courses are not included in the calculation of the KSU GPA. To be admitted to the Coles College Undergraduate Professional Program, a student must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 for the Sophomore GPA Requirement courses. In the calculation of this GPA, applicable AP test scores of 3 = C, while scores of 4 or 5 = B.

CLEP Tests

Kennesaw State University awards credit for the courses listed below if a student scores 50 or higher on the corresponding College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) test. A “K” grade is assigned for these courses on the student’s transcript. These courses are not included in the calculation of the KSU GPA. To be admitted to the Coles College Undergraduate Professional Program, a student must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 for the Sophomore GPA Requirement courses. The grade equivalencies for CLEP test scores used to compute the GPA for the Sophomore GPA Requirement are shown in the table below.
