Business majors must apply for and be accepted to the “Coles College Professional Program” in order to be eligible to take any upper-division business courses and to graduate with a BBA degree. Admission to the Coles Professional Program is separate from admission to Kennesaw State University.
To be admitted to the Coles Professional Program, you must successfully complete the Sophomore GPA Requirement and the other requirements, pay a non-refundable application fee, and submit a completed application to the Business Undergraduate Advising Center in BB 431.
The Sophomore GPA Requirement involves a GPA in a specific set of courses. The minimum GPA that you must achieve in those courses is based on the KSU Catalog you are following for your degree. The Catalog you follow is usually based on your “matriculation date” at KSU (the term you started taking classes at KSU). However, you must graduate using a Catalog that is no more than ten years old, so if you will not graduate within ten years of starting at KSU, you will have to move from the Catalog associated with your matriculation date to a newer Catalog.
Current Admission Requirements
Current requirements for admission to the Coles College Professional Program are:
Be admitted to Kennesaw State University and declared as a business major. Meet or exceed the Sophomore GPA Requirement of 3.00, including a grade of “C” or higher in each course. Complete 50 semester hours, including most of the KSU General Education hours. Register with KSU Career Services. Pay the application fee to the KSU Bursar’s Office and get your application form stamped appropriately. Meet with a member of the Coles College Advising Team.
Transfer students are required to meet the same criteria for Coles admission as those students who have attended only KSU.
