  • ELi Hogan CEO: 

    Eli Hogan is a finance major from Cartersville, Georgia. He is the chief executive officer of the Student Managed Investment Fund, after previous stints as a junior analyst, associate, and managing director. In addition to his work with the SMIF, he is a member of the Coles Scholars Program and Beta Gamma Sigma, has interned with J.P. Morgan and Henssler Financial’s research group, and was a member of KSU’s first ever CFA Challenge Team, winning the 2017 ASFIP Southern Classic and competing in Seattle for the national championship. Post graduation, he will be returning to J.P. Morgan as a private banking analyst.

  • CIO:Andrew Hedden

    Andrew is a senior finance major with a minor in computer science. This is his fourth semester with SMIF, working with the firm as the Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager. He is a member of the Coles College Student Advisory Board to the Dean and Omicron Delta Epsilon, The International Honor Society for Economics. Andrew is interested in capital markets as well as applying computer science to quantitative analysis and statistical modeling. Andrew interned with MRI Software, Georgia Pacific, and Henssler Financial. After obtaining his bachelor’s degree he plans to gain further industry experience before attending graduate school.

  • Joshua Mbugua COO:

    Joshua Mbugua is a senior majoring in Finance from San Diego, California. Joshua has been with the SMIF for three semesters and was previously a junior analyst, associate manager and now Chief Operations Officer. He is President of KSU’s Enactus team, a member of the Coles College Student Advisory Board to the Dean, has interned with Illumina in the past and is currently interning at Illinois Tool Works and McKenney’s in FP&A. Joshua is interested in corporate strategy and analytics and seeks to solve problems and innovate either from within as an analyst or externally as a consultant.

  • Jacob Wells Chief Economist:

    Jacob Wells is a finance major entering his senior year at KSU and fourth year with the SMIF. After serving as managing director for the Healthcare and Industrials sectors for a year, Jacob assumed the role of Chief Economist of the SMIF. In the past, Jacob has interned for firms in both capital wealth management as well as mergers and acquisitions, gaining experience in asset management strategy and M&A research. Jacob is an Eagle Scout, currently serves as Treasurer of his fraternity, and studied abroad to Spain’s #1 university for economics. Upon graduation, Jacob plans to gain experience in investment banking and complete his CFA before attending graduate school.
