The purpose of the multi-disciplinary Joel A. Katz Music and Entertainment Business Program (MEBUS) is to provide a foundation of practical experiences, on-the-job training, and exploration of career opportunities in the music and entertainment industry. Success in the music and entertainment business requires a variety of skills from diverse fields.
The mission of the Joel A. Katz Music and Entertainment Business Program is “to educate students to become professionals in an environment that motivates and enriches their intellectual curiosity to the level where they can see themselves making music and entertainment their full lifetime career.” – Joel A. Katz
The Joel A. Katz MEBUS Program is a 24-credit hour certificate open to all majors at KSU after applying to the program as a rising junior. MEBU 1101 is offered as an introductory course to the program for one credit-hour.

MEBUS Certificate Requirements
The requirements for the MEBUS Certificate vary depending on your Major. They are described in the KSU Undergraduate Catalog. Be sure to look in the section that relates to your Major. MEBU courses are classified as “non-business” courses for business majors.

After Graduation: Joel A. Katz MEBUS Graduates
Sasha Gwin, a recent graduate from Kennesaw State University and the MEBUS program is one of our many successful alums. She graduated in May of 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Communication concentrated in Media Studies. She is currently working full-time as an Assistant to the Marketing & Business development department at Philips Arena.
