Acree Oil named top family business

Acree Oil Company of Toccoa was recognized last week as one of the state's top small businesses.

The family-owned and operated company, operating in Toccoa since 1928, was named the 2009 Business of the Year (small division) winner by the Cox Family Enterprise Center at the Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University.

The small business division includes family-owned operations with 50 employees or less.

… "We are proud once again to have a great group of winners and finalists who have withstood the test of time, have flourished due to strong values and savvy business sense and who are community leaders and innovators," Cox Family Enterprise Center executive director Joe Astrachan said.
