Hermanson One of the Most Prolific Accounting Scholars of the Past 50 Years
According to a recent study that ranked the most frequently appearing authors in 25 core accounting journals from 1959-2008, Coles College Accounting professor Dr. Dana R. Hermanson was ranked #80 out of over 10,500 authors who have published in these journals. During his 16-year career at Coles, he has published 25 articles in these journals. Hermanson has received several awards for his contributions, including the 2008 Deloitte/AAA Wildman Medal, which recognizes research judged “to have made or be likely to make the most significant contribution to the advancement of the public practice of accountancy.” He was named the Kennesaw State University Foundation 2007 Distinguished Professor. Hermanson’s research primarily addresses issues related to auditing and corporate governance, and he teaches forensic accounting in the Masters of Accounting program. He will become co-editor of Accounting Horizons in May 2009 and holds the Mary and Jack Dinos Eminent Scholar Chair of Private Enterprise.
