Coles College Finance Professors Ackert and Ramirez among the Best in the World

According to a recent study that ranked the most frequently appearing authors in 26 core finance journals worldwide, Dr. Lucy Ackert and Dr. Gabirel Ramirez from the Department of Economics, Finance and Quant. analysis were ranked 612 and 638 respectively. Dr. Lucy F. Ackert is Professor of Finance in the Michael J. Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University and Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.  Her research interests include individuals’ use of information and financial market reaction to information. In 1993 Dr. Ackert received a Smith Breeden Prize for Distinguished paper in the Journal of Finance.  Dr. Ackert has received multiple KSU Foundation Prizes and was also the recipient of the KSU Distinguished Graduate Scholarship Award.

Dr. Gabriel Ramirez is a Professor of Finance in the Michael J. Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University. Most of his research (which is reflected in the rankings) relates to renegotiation of financial contracts in particular debt renegotiation for firms in financial distress including debtor-in-possession financing. His current research is in financial re-contracting, financial securities issuance and markets, and most recently on lending practices and globalization of financial services. He was a recipient of numerous awards for his research including the Foundation Prize and the KSU Distinguished Scholarship Award.
