What are the differences between the AT&T Executive MBA format and the open enrollment Executive MBA format?

While we emphasize that the AT&T Executive MBA and open enrollment programs result in the same MBA degree, there are four differences in the formats which benefit employees of AT&T. It is important to remember that this is not a telecom MBA - it is simply delivered on your company premises:

  1. Program Location
The AT&T format is held at the Lenox or Lindbergh campus in Buckhead.
  2. Special Topic Learning Modules
The only difference in curriculum between the AT&T and the open enrollment format are the special topic modules. The AT&T students participate in telecom industry modules developed exclusively for them. The modules provide an opportunity to learn about the telecom industry from top executives within AT&T as well as policy makers and other industry experts. Past module presenters have included:

Phil Jacobs, President of BellSouth Georgia
Donna Lee, Retired Chief Marketing Officer @ BellSouth
Dick Anderson, Vice Chairman @ BellSouth & Cingular Board Member
Ron Dykes, Retired Chief Financial Officer @ BellSouth & Cingular Board Chair
Rex Adams, President-Carrier Services @ BellSouth
Beth Shiroishi, Executive Director-External Affairs @ BellSouth
Val Markos, Executive Director-Leadership Development @ BellSouth
Bill Smith, Chief Technology Officer @ BellSouth
Dick Sibbernsen, EVP-Human Resources @ BellSouth
Jim Bowles, Vice President-Work Force Development @ Cingular
Thaddeus Arroyo, Chief Information Officer @ Cingular
Marc LeFar, Chief Marketing Officer @ Cingular
Kristin Rinne, Chief Technolgy Officer @ Cingular                                                    Jeff Kagan, Industry Analyst                                                                                Scott Leith, Lead Telecom Business Writer @AJC                                                    Walt Sapronov, Telecom Attorney
The Honorable David Burgess, Georgia PSC Commissioner (Retired)
    Rod Odom, President AT&T Southeast
    Rick Bradley, EVP-HR @AT&T (Wireless)
  3. Tuition
The AT&T tuition structure, negotiated by your companies, is less than the open-enrollment program. This program may qualify for tuition reimbursement under your respective company's policy. Please refer to the policy of your company for more information.
  4. Length of Program
The length of the program is 19 months.

What are the advantages of enrolling in the AT&T Executive MBA format?

The key advantages of the Coles Corporate On-Site Program with AT&T are:

  1. Generous tuition reimbursement – if eligible apply your tuition reimbursement towards payment
  2. Mingle with top executives at AT&T - Coles has deep relationships with top executives from AT&T. For example, the AT&T Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Learning Officer came to speak in the most recent special topics module.
  3. Advance in your career and your life while at your current employer and beyond - the Coles MBA is a highly regarded degree that will provide you with business know-how and wisdom to carry you while you are employed at AT&T and beyond.
  4. Positive reputation within AT&T - Coles works directly with top executives at AT&T and has established positive relationships with these executives. The positive image Coles has with managers and directors at all levels within the organization, along with the strong performance of our students and alumni, has resulted in our students being rewarded with more responsibility, recognition, and promotions internally.

I'm an AT&T employee, but I'd like to apply to the Open Enrollment program format, may I?

Absolutely. Talk openly with the Coles Admissions team about what program you are leaning towards and why. They can help you in your decision matrix.

Does participating in the AT&T format limit my networking opportunities and cross-functional or cross-industry views?

Absolutely not. A current student said it best when she said "We all have different experiences and backgrounds so we can learn from one another, we just all happen to be employed by AT&T right now. That actually helps the learning become more fluid, we instantly relate through our employer and this made our class bond fast, without losing our sense of individuality." In addition, Executive MBA students mingle at social events with other classes and with alumni making the regional network fantastic and valuable.

I'm an AT&T employee and I'd like to participate in the global experience even though I'm applying to the AT&T Executive MBA. May I?

Yes, you may. However, we encourage you to wait until after you complete the AT&T Executive MBA format before participating in the global experience. The global experience module, while highly rewarding, requires a significant time commitment to the global team from each of its members. Students have found it difficult to participate in both the telecom industry module and the global experience module simultaneously.
