Dr. Kolenko has taught on the graduate faculties of the University of Wisconsin–Madison and Wake Forest University before joining Kennesaw State University´s Department of Management and Entrepreneurship as an Associate Professor of Management. He currently teaches undergraduate and MBA courses in labor relations¸ compensation systems¸ human resource management¸ and organizational behavior.

Dr. Kolenko has made significant contributions to improving organizational effectiveness as a human resource and organizational change consultant to many local and Fortune 500 firms including Georgia–Pacific¸ RJR–Nabisco¸ ITT¸ General Motors¸ BellSouth¸ and Bausch & Lomb. These consulting engagements have focused on human resource systems planning¸ organizational transformation and change¸ management development systems¸ organizational assessment surveys¸ and leadership development programs.

Dr. Thomas A. Kolenko earned his undergraduate degree at General Motors Institute in Organizational Development¸ followed by an MBA from Michigan State University in Human Resource Management in 1975. After holding several managerial posts in General Motors Corporation¸ he earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

He is an active member of the Greater Atlanta Human Resource Planning Group¸ Human Resource Planning Society¸ and Information Management Forum. Professor Kolenko has been active within the Academy of Management since 1978 and the Southern Management Association since 1984. He has presented over 25 scholarly papers in these professional associations in the areas of executive self–management¸ person–job matching strategies¸ strategic human resource planning¸ and college recruiting. His pedagogical interests and presentations have focused on executive development programs¸ designing effective video learning systems¸ and executive self–management tools.

He has been active on the boards of the Management Education & Development (MED)¸ Careers¸ and Managerial Consultation (MC) Divisions of the Academy of Management.
