School of Accountancy

Heather Hermanson teaches financial accounting and auditing courses in the School of Accountancy at Kennesaw State University. Her research addresses a variety of accounting and auditing issues and has been published in such journals as Accounting Horizons, Behavioral Research in Accounting, Issues in Accounting Education, The International Journal of Accounting, Advances in Accounting Behavioral Research, Journal of Forensic Accounting, The CPA Journal, and Internal Auditing.

Heather has auditing experience with two of the Big 4 firms. She has received a number of teaching awards and recognitions, and she has had leadership or advisory roles in student groups and professional accounting organizations. Heather is a Co-Founder of the Corporate Governance Center at Kennesaw State.

Heather has a bachelors degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois and a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin. She is quite active in non-profit organizations, and Heather and her husband, Dana, have two sons, Tim and Will.
