About CGC

The Corporate Governance Center was founded in 1995 by Paul Lapides, Dana Hermanson, Gary Roberts, Heather Hermanson, and Bobby Vick. It was the first comprehensive entity for director education, corporate governance, and operational oversight, and the director education program was the first of its kind in the Southeast.

Our faculty are deeply committed to all aspects of Corporate Governance including thought leadership, research, education, and support for the business community. We have been published in top rated academic journals, as well as highly respected Governance publications such as the National Association of Corporate Directors’ Directorship and Directors and Boards. Our faculty have also been cited widely in the media as a source of information and insights about corporate governance for outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Businessweek, USA Today, Barron’s, Bloomberg, Fortune, Associated Press, Reuters, Bureau of National Affairs, LA Times, Dow Jones Newswire, Christian Science Monitor, Financial Executive, CFO Magazine, Business Finance Magazine, Accounting Today, Computer World, Atlanta Business Chronicle, Atlanta Journal Constitution, and Corporate Financing Week, among others.
