German Internship Program

Summary

AmCham Germany (www.amcham.de), in cooperation with Emory, Kennesaw, Morehouse, Georgia Tech and Georgia State has prepared an internship program to encourage young American college students to experience living and working in Germany.

This internship program will be under the patronage of Ambassador Andrew Young and the Ministerpraesident (Governor) of the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg in Germany. AmCham Germany, through its president Fred B. Irwin, and the office of the Governor of the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg in Stuttgart agreed on starting this internship program in Baden-Wuerttemberg. The Governor is willing to use his influence to find internship positions in local businesses.

The purpose of this program is to support young Americans in going abroad and developing a cultural and economic exchange experience. The program is trying to find partners as well as sponsors for this cultural and economic exchange. As a part of the project, the program will be starting in the state of Baden Württemberg, one of the states in the south of Germany. There is a special need on two principal areas, sponsoring the program and providing traineeships. The German Internship Program will also help the students with their VISA and in special situations with extra financial support from the support of general sponsors in Germany.
