William J. Cleary earned a Masters of Science in Taxation at Walsh College and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting at the University of Notre Dame. After spending more than thirty years working in industry, Bill joined the Coles College faculty in 2004 and will be teaching graduate tax courses as well as undergraduate courses in tax and accounting.

 

Bill spent eighteen years with Price Waterhouse, in their Detroit, Cleveland and Atlanta offices. As a Tax Partner, he served a wide variety of corporate, partnership and individual clients. In addition, he frequently taught tax courses in both the Price Waterhouse and various State CPA Continuing Education Programs.

 

After leaving Price Waterhouse, Bill joined Equifax Inc. in Atlanta, where he spent one year as Vice President of Financial Analysis and Planning, two years as Vice President of Internal Audit and eleven years as Vice President of Tax. In this latter position, he managed a Department of up to 16 professionals and was responsible for all areas of taxation, including international, federal, state income, sales and use, property and payroll taxes.

 

Bill is currently a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs and a past member of the Tax Executives Institute.
