He holds a PhD. from the University of South Carolina¸ a MBA from the University of Minnesota¸ and a BBA from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. Prior to joining Kennesaw State in June¸ 2005¸ Prof. Blumentritt was on the faculty at Marquette University for six years.His recent research has concentrated on strategic management of small– and medium–sized enterprises¸ including family businesses¸ with a focus on examining innovation and planning practices at these firms. His other research interests include understanding the interactions between foreign subsidiaries of multinational corporations and their host governments. He has presented his work at multiple national conferences over the last 10 years and published in the following publications: Journal of International Business Studies¸ Journal of International Management¸ Journal of Business Strategy¸ Business & Society¸ and International Journal of Entrepreneurship & Innovation (May¸ 2005). His first book¸ Using Strategy: A Guide for Better Business Performance was published by Marquette University Press in January¸ 2005.Dr. Blumentritt has extensive experience in helping managers improve their abilities to understand and apply strategic management with his in involvement MBA and Executive MBA programs and the International Management Center (Budapest¸ Hungary). He was selected the Outstanding Faculty person by the Marquette EMBA Class of 2001. Prior to his doctoral studies¸ Tim worked as a junior equity analyst in the investment banking industry and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute. He is a principal at Creative Performance Systems¸ a provider of budgeting¸ planning and forecasting software to banks.
