He received his Ph.D. in Production and Operations Management from the University of Georgia. He also holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Engineering and Sciences from BITS¸ Pilani (India). He primarily teaches Managing the Value Chain (Operations Management)¸ World Class Manufacturing¸ and Supply Chain Management courses at the BBA¸ traditional MBA¸ and Executive MBA levels.Dr. Chakravorty research interests include focusing process improvement efforts in manufacturing and service operations using constraint management and lean manufacturing concepts. He has many publications in highly recognized journals such as the Production and Operations Management¸ Decision Sciences Journal for Innovative Education¸ International Journal of Production Research¸ Omega: International Journal of Management Science¸ European Journal of Operational Management¸ International Journal Production Economics¸ Quality Management Journal¸ International Journal of Operations and Production Management¸ Production and Inventory Management Journal¸ Industrial Management¸ International Journal of Technology¸ and Simulation and Gaming.Dr. Chakravorty is a member of the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI)¸ Production and Operations Management Society (POMS)¸ American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS)¸ and National Association of Purchasing Management (NAPM).
