Ph.D. – University of South Carolina
B.S.B.A.– East Carolina University

Dr. Hope Baker received her Ph.D. in Operations Research and Statistics from the University of South Carolina in 1987. She currently teaches courses in quantitative methods¸ simulation and statistics. Dr. Baker’s research focuses on the application of optimization and simulation models to business processes. Her research has been published in journals including European Journal of Operational Research¸ Omega¸ and Interface.

Prior to joining KSU¸ Dr. Baker served on the faculties at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro¸ Georgia State University¸ and Florida State University. Dr. Baker is an active an active member of the Decision Sciences Institute at the national and regional levels. 

In 1992¸ Dr. Baker received one of two university outstanding teaching awards given to junior faculty members at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Within the Coles College of Business¸ she has been awarded the annual T.P. Hall Service Award¸Outstanding Faculty Advisor to a Student Organization Award, Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award, and Outstanding Teaching Award.
