Fitzgerald has published competitive research in the areas of international competitive positioning¸ strategic decision making¸ and economies in transition. She is a regular reviewer for the Academy of Management REVIEW and reviews for numerous competitive conferences. Dr. Fitzgerald primarily teaches the capstone business course (strategic management) and international management at the Undergraduate and Graduate levels.Dr. Fitzgerald has received two Chancellor´s awards for seminars to Eastern Europe¸ has taught at the Roehampton Institute in England for two summers¸ has conducted primary data collection in Eastern Europe¸ and is very active in supporting international academic activities. She is a member of the International Business Task Committee and is an Advisory Council Member for the American Society for Competitiveness. Dr. Fitzgerald has been a member of the Coles College Undergraduate Curriculum Committee since 1997¸ and has been a judge for the Georgia Family Business of the Year Award since 1993.In the corporate world¸ Dr. Fitzgerald was a Marketing Representative for Campbell Soup Company¸ served as Regulatory Affairs Assistant at Bristol Laboratories conducting clinical trials for approval by the FDA¸ was an Administrative Manager for Magnavox CATV¸ and was a Special Projects Analyst at Eagle Comtronics¸ Inc. She has consulted with Niagara Mohawk Power Co¸ Fay´s Drugs Inc.¸ Progressive Productions¸ Qualex Corporation¸ Consol Inc.¸ and the United States Army.
