Dr. Deborah H. Lester has been a Professor of Marketing at Kennesaw State University since 1989. Prior to her employment at KSU, she was the Chair of the Marketing Department at Mercer University and a Marketing professor at the University of Tennessee at Martin. She holds a Bachelor and a Masters degree from Florida State University and a Ph.D. from Texas Woman’s University. Her area of specialty is retailing¸ sports marketing and promotional strategy. She has buying and management experience with the J.C. Penney Company and Robinson of Florida.

She has done extensive consulting work with ETC Communications¸ General Motors Corporation¸ Six Flags¸ Pontiac¸ Saturn and many others.

Deborah has held several officer positions with the American Collegiate Retailing Association. She has been the Program Chair and President of the Atlantic Marketing Association. Currently she stays active as a program participant¸ reviewer and presenter for national meetings. Scholarly activities include numerous paper presentations and published proceeding articles.

Dr. Lester has received the Outstanding College of Business Teaching Award twice and been nominated for the University Teaching Award. She has received the University Service Award and the Betty Siegel Award for Service to the Athletic Department.
