Business Law Marketing
Economics Operations & Purchasing
Finance Professional Sales

These eight minors are open to both business majors and non-business majors.

A grade of “C” or better must be earned in all course work applicable to a formal minor. Some courses have prerequisites – be sure to check the current KSU
Undergraduate Catalog for details.

Additional rules for students majoring in a business area:

  • You cannot minor in the same area of business as your major.
  • You must complete the Coles College Sophomore GPA Requirement in addition to any specific course prerequisites before taking courses for a business minor.
  • You must earn at least nine (9) semester hours in the minor in residence at KSU.
  • If you later change your major or formal minor, you must file a new “Declaration of a Formal Minor” form.
  • You may not return to college after you earned the baccalaureate degree to add a minor.
  • If you change the courses that make up your minor, you must complete a new “Declaration of a Formal Minor” form.
  • Your business minor may not contain any courses counted as your Major Field Requirements or Major Field Electives.
  • You may count courses taken for a business minor toward the Business Electives required for a B.B.A. degree.
  • The student must sign, in addition to the student’s Faculty Advisor, Department Chair of Major Department, and Department Chair of the Formal Minor, in writing, the “Declaration of Formal Minor” form.

***Please indicate your intention to pursue a minor in one of these areas by submitting a “Declaration of Formal Minor” form to the Business Undergraduate Advising Center in BB 431 (770-423-6055).

If you have questions about any of these business minors, contact the Department sponsoring the minor or talk with a member of the Coles College Advising Team. A list of Team members and their walk-in advising times is available from the Business Undergraduate Advising Center.
